Synopsis
Every year during harvest bandits come to the village of Kanna and raid what they have farmed. Slowly it escalates to not just the crops they are taking but women and children as well. The Elder decides that the village is in need of protection. The village is poor however and cannot afford to pay the samurai with anything but rice. A small group leaves the village in search of samurai who would be willing to work for rice. After traveling from city to city they return and the samurai they have managed to recruit helps the village by building up their defenses. After defeating the bandits the village and samurai set their sights on a larger enemy - the emperor.
