Created topic Server Outage, Site Updates, and Planned Downtime
Hello, As a result of hardware failures the OtakuElite website was taken down for a period of several weeks. During this time the website was taken offline and migrated to a new server and the database recovered from daily backups. I am still working on some changes so I am expecting the site to go down periodically. In addition to these changes the website was updated to newer libraries to improve security and several outdated features were disabled including: External login (security issues)ShowsIRC Server (no longer hosted)Minecraft Server (no longer hosted) In place of the Crunchyroll Streaming links on the home page a randomized list of Anime and Characters were added. If you run into any problems feel free to leave a comment in the forums or reach out directly to me. ~Webmaster

I am currently in the process into looking into moving the site to a new server due to age. As a result of this transition the site may periodically go down while files are being transferred and configured.

The server is currently under maintenance for some manditory updates. As a result the site may be down periodically over the next several days. The server will also be down towards the end of October 2019 while the server is being relocated. Thanks! Nyome

Due to storage issues on the server I'm in the process of moving some older database backups to external storage. This will resolve any storage issues for now. Sadly, due to the storage issues it is possible some data may not have been saved correctly. If any information has been lost please feel free to resubmit.  And yes I'm still around. Hi everyone! I'm going to be heading out of state for about 2 1/2 weeks starting this Monday. If the site goes down I may not be able to fix it. But if it's any compensation the server has been up for almost 2 months so it is unlikely there will be a problem. Until I get back! Nyo~

The site is back up and running at a new location! Because this is a new area there may still be some things to work out. Be sure to post if you notice any problems. Site was down for a few hours as I was moving things around in the apartment. It will be up for a little while but will be back down in the next day or so until I have set up the server again at the new apartment.

Hi guys!  I'm going to be moving to a new apartment. I'm hoping to minimize site downtime as much as possible but as a result of the move the site may be down a day or two. I'm hoping it will not extend longer than that. But it all depends on how fast the internet provider can get internet up and running. Didn't get as much as I wanted to this weekend. But I'm still in the process of slowly getting myself back into coding so you'll have to bare with me.       For this tiny update you'll be able to now click on tags on blog posts to search for other posts by that user with similar tags. I plan on adding a new settings page for blogs specifically. I'm holding off on the ability to add tags to the side bar since I want to add it as part of a new widget system. To keep things simple the first widget will be the option to add a custom HTML box to the side bar. You will be able to use that to add custom tag links. To link to a specific tag to your blog it'll be... /users/blog/?u=YourUserId&tag=TagName Your user id is the number shown in the URL next to the "u" querystring. Example: /users/blog/?u=4  &tag=anime I plan to add more features include the YT embeds very soon. As a result of the hardware maintenance last month the email service for registration was not working correctly. This issue has been resolved and registration should now be working again. An email will be going out to those who created an account and were not able to validate since the error started to occur. ~Webmaster

Replied to Reasonable Suggestions to Help make the Site even Better.
After working with tumblr a bit I decided that drafts wouldn't be a bad idea as well as an option to schedule release times for posts. So you can write 2 blogs and set one of them for next week at a set time if you're expecting to be away. As for private messages? There is nothing planned. As for now I'm working on amazon ads which I just manage to start making progress into since I'm starting to get a bit of free time.
